In areas where healthcare is scarce, medical missions have a profound impact. By delivering essential medical services, education, and resources, these missions help improve health outcomes and foster a sense of hope and unity among the communities they serve.
In the vibrant town of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, a medical mission took place last October 18, 2025, through the dedicated partnership of LifeBank Foundation (LBF), the Philippine Red Cross – Bacolod Chapter, City Health of Bacolod, and the Municipality of Hinigaran.
A total of 500 beneficiaries including members of the LBF Ikabuhi Microfinance Program (IMP) and other local residents received vital medical care. The mission addressed immediate health needs and offered community education initiatives, equipping participants with the knowledge and practices necessary for disease prevention and maintaining a safer home environment.
As part of the initiatives to support overall community well-being, the participants also benefited from first aid demonstrations and free HIV testing, ensuring access to important preventive care. To further support community well-being, hot meals were distributed to attendees, making the event a truly comprehensive effort to promote health, safety, and nourishment for all.
Through these collaborative efforts, the mission achieved more than just the provision of medical care.
