58 Dreams Take Flight in Maasin, Iloilo

Education remains one of the most valuable gifts we can offer to the next generation.

Through the LifeBank Education Scholarship Program, deserving students are given the chance to continue their studies, pursue their aspirations, and create a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.  More than financial assistance, the program serves as a bridge of hope by providing scholars with opportunities, encouragement, and support on their journey to success.

In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maasin, the LifeBank Education Scholarship Program stands as a beacon of hope for underprivileged youth  providing sustained support and opening doors to higher education through financial assistance, mentorship, and encouragement. This shared commitment was celebrated last February 9, 2026, during the LifeBank Scholars’ Reception and Assistance Release Program held at the Liga Conference Hall, Maasin Municipal Building, Maasin, Iloilo.

The event marked another milestone in the ongoing collaboration of LifeBank Foundation, Inc. and the LGU of Maasin, reaffirming their dedication to supporting scholars from their first year, until they complete their college education empowering them to achieve their dreams and inspire them to give back to their communities.

This was attended by representatives from both the LGU Maasin and LifeBank Foundation, including Hon. SB Member Mindaluz Villena, Hon. SB Member Hope Mondejar – Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Mr. John Mondejar – Executive Assistant III of the LGU of Maasin, Ms. Mikka Ella B. Perlas-Rivera – Vice President of LBF Social and Sustainable Development Department (SSDD) and Ms. Berna G. Rafael – Department Head of SSDD.

Through this collaborative effort, 58 deserving and indigent first-year college students received educational assistance from the Municipality of Maasin. This program aims to ease the financial burden on students and their families, encourage academic excellence, and provide greater opportunities for the scholars to achieve their dreams and become future leaders in their communities.

This program stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and meaningful partnerships. As these 58 scholars embark on their academic journey, they carry with them not only financial support but also the hopes of their families, the wishes of their benefactors, the unwavering commitment of the LGU of Maasin and LifeBank Foundation and the entire Maasin community.

Together, shining as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a brighter future for all.
